जिस शब्द से संज्ञा या सर्वनाम की स्त्री या पुरुष जाति का बोध होता है, उसे लिंग कहा जाता है।
जैसे- बालक, बालिका, चिड़िया, मोरनी, बैल आदि।
लिंग के दो भेद होते है-
1.पुल्लिंग
2.स्त्रीलिंग
1. पुल्लिंग– वे संज्ञा या सर्वनाम शब्द जो हमें पुरुष जाति का बोध कराते हैं, पुल्लिंग कहलाते हैं।
जैसे- मोर, मुर्गा, आदमी, राजा आदि।
2. स्त्रीलिंग- वे संज्ञा या सर्वनाम शब्द जो हमें स्त्री जाति का बोध कराते हैं, स्त्रीलिंग कहलाते हैं।
जैसे- मोरनी, शेरनी, औरत, रानी आदि।
