हिंदी वर्णमाला में प्रकार के वर्ण हैं–
- स्वर
- व्यंजन
स्वरों की संख्या 11 होती है तथा अं और अः
अयोगवाह कहलाते हैं।
व्यंजनों की संख्या 33 होती है तथा क्ष त्र ज्ञ श्र संयुक्त व्यंजन कहलाते हैं, जो दो व्यंजनों के मेल से बनते हैं।
