Air
Air is a mixture of gases like nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and others that surround the Earth. It is essential for life as humans and animals need oxygen to breathe, and plants use carbon dioxide for photosynthesis. The atmosphere is the blanket of air around Earth, protecting us from the sun's harmful rays and regulating temperature. It has five layers: troposphere, where weather occurs; stratosphere, containing the ozone layer; mesosphere, protecting us from meteoroids; thermosphere, with satellites; and exosphere, the outermost layer. Air is vital for breathing, burning fuel, and maintaining the planet’s climate and ecosystem.
Water
Water is a precious resource necessary for life. It is used for drinking, cooking, farming, and cleaning. Filtration is the process of removing insoluble impurities by passing water through a filter. Decantation involves pouring water off the top to separate it from settled impurities. Sedimentation allows heavy particles to settle at the bottom. Distillation purifies water by heating it into vapor and condensing it back to remove impurities.
